Northallerton Baby Fair raised £92.50 for the SCBU at Friarage Hopsital, Northallerton
BABIES BENEFIT THANKS TO COOCHIE COU A RAFFLE and tombola at a special baby fair at the Golden Lion in Northallerton has helped tiny babies at the Friarage’s special care baby unit. The fair, organised by Cari Parker from Coochie Cou, whose two daughters were born at the Friarage, was also attended by staff from the hospital’s maternity unit. They had a stall and a poster display at the event and were on hand to chat to people and reassure them the unit was open and running as normal following its temporary closure in summer 2009. The unit received £92.50 thanks to the generosity of people attending the fair and it will be used towards equipment or to buy something to make life easier or more comfortable for babies and their families. Clinical matron for women and children at the Friarage, Anne Wall, said: “We would like to thank Cari for supporting the unit and all who helped to raise the money. “The baby fair was a successful and useful event for mums to be and families with babies and we are hoping to attend again this year.”
